Poem by Ethan Davis, 1st term Inks lake camper, from Houston.
Camp Longhorn is fun
Lots of time to run in the sun
On Thursday nights we have a dance
I can’t wait to get out there and take a chance.
My favorite is to jump on the blob
Counselors watching, that’s their job
Riflery takes a steady hand
Do not shoot before the command.
My timeless memories at Camp Longhorn
I will someday share with my newborn
I highly recommend this camp for all
Have a great summer; see you at school in the fall.

POEM by Sloan Rucker, 3rd term Inks Lake camper from Houston.
"Night at Camp Longhorn"
Across the horizon, a sun slowly sets
Painting the sky with its brilliant colors
The crickets begin to chirp
As they play their solemn song
A campfire is made
The flames dance in the stone pit
Fireflies flutter about the air
Their bodies flashing bright in the dark
The light glistens in the campers' eyes
They quietly murmur the traditional camp songs
The melodies all but a hush
Night at Camp Longhorn has come.

Emily Glasscock, Indian Springs 1st termer, wanted to share some pictures. First on left is from a few weeks ago. Her dad finally got home from a year in Afghanistan! This was the first time they saw him! She is so glad he is home! The second photo (more recent) was taken before Emily and her sisters attended the Father Daughter Gala. She mentioned they had a great time and it was fun dressing up! The third photo is from a trip to the Air Force Base next to their army base to go tubing. She says you go really fast and she loves doing it!
Emily, also said in her email, "I cannot wait for Camp! I will be at CLH no matter where the army send us!
Attawaytogo, Emily!
